When do I get my tickets? When you have completed your order by paying via paypal your order will be verified by a Brickfete monkey team member. Processing may take up to 12 hours. Once your payment has been verified your tickets will be emailed.

If your tickets did not arrive they may be in your spam folder or our mail might have been blocked by your Internet provider or your email host (msn for example blocks our mail) Sorry, but we have no control over this. Log back into your Brickfete account and click on "ORDERS" (located under our logo). A copy of your tickets will appear there. Alternately you can useyour paypal receipt and photo I.D. instead.
Do I need to print my tickets, or can I show them on my phone? Your phone is fine. Please set your phone to full brightness so they can be easily scanned.
My tickets wont print properly, what do I do? You have a few options.
1. Log back into your Brickfete account and click on "ORDERS" (located under our logo). A copy of your tickets will appear there. Typically they print much better from our pages instead of your email.
2. OR you can just pull them up on a mobile device.
3. OR you can print your paypal receipt and bring photo ID.
Can I still buy tickets? If online ticket sales are closed, tickets are still available at the door the days of the event. Cash Only.
I can't use my tickets. May I get a refund? As stated on the ticket info page "All ticket sales are final. There are no refunds for unused, lost or stolen tickets." Unlike a large business or enterprise, we are a volunteer run organization, your ticket sale helped us prepay for upfront costs associated with running the event. We do not maintain sufficient funds to issue refunds. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.
User authentication? I am trying to get an account but I am not getting the authentication email, what do I do?
If your email did not arrive it may be in your spam folder or our mail might have been blocked by your Internet provider or your email host (msn for example blocks our mail). Sorry, but we have no control over this. If this happens to you, please send email@example.com an email (from the same email you are using to get an account) stating your username and that you are not getting our emails. We can authenticate your email in person. However, please note, this means that you will not get any Brickfete emails, so follow us on facebook, or check back on the site to see updates to contests, events or schedules.
How do I change my password for logging in? Log into the site using your current password then click the "Settings" link on the top menu below the logo. Please take care to fill in all the fields before pressing the "update password" button. When your password has been successfully changed a green alert box will appear saying "Password has been updated".
Endless email loop??? If the link does not help you to reset your password please copy and paste the full text into your web browswer.
How do I change email or username? You can not change your email or username, they are permanently linked to your account. This protects you from someone else requesting a change to your account without your knowledge. Therefore if you need a change your email or want a new username, you must create new account. Please be aware there is no way to transfer existing tickets to a new account.
I have forgotten my password, how do I log in? If you forget your password, we can not retrieve because it is encrypted (hashed) in our database. You can reset your own password by clicking on the "Login" link and then click on "Forgot". Input your email address and the site will "automagically" send you email with a link to recreate your password.
GENERAL Brickfête FAQ
Is your event 2, 3 or 4 days long? Yes. Brickfête is two separate events, with some periods of overlapping time. The public expo takes place Saturday and Sunday fom 10 am to 3 pm and the general public is welcomed to purchase tickets and visit our display. Brickfête has a seperate private event (for adult exhibitors) that includes the days prior to the weekend and the weekend evening hours.
I am not an exhibitor, can I still register for the private event? No, at this time we do not offer tickets during the private event for those that are not exhibitors. This may change as we grow, but currently we do not have enough volunteer staff to offer this option.
Can the public bring in models, compete in competitions or participate in the after hours events? No, the after hours event activites are exclusively for registered exhibitors.
Do you work for LEGO? No, we do not. We are adult hobbyists. Brickfête is a volunteer organisation that is not owned or operated by the LEGO company nor do we represent their company.
Does LEGO sponsor you? No, LEGO does not hire us or provide any sort of financial backing for this event. However, the LEGO company is an invited guest and may choose to send employees for workshops, keynotes, demos or new products promotions.
Are all of the things you display sets or kits? No, the majority of items displayed are original creations known as a MOC (My Own Creations).
Are instructions available for MOCs? As a rule, no. The majority of these creations are just made up as the builder creates them, basically trial and error. Some hobbyists do CAD (Computer Assisted/Aided Drawing/Design/Drafting) their models prior (as part of the design process) or after (to record their creations) before dismantling them. A LEGO CAD can be turned into instructions by the model maker if they choose, however, its a lengthy and technical process that is time consuming.
Where do you get all your brick? Most of our attendee collections have been slowly collected over the years and in many cases decades. A collector purchases brick directly from LEGO, retail establishments, online retailers and private sales just as any other consumer does.
What is an AFOL? Adult Fan of LEGO.
Are the models glued? 99.1% of the models here are not glued. The creators work very hard to make stable structures that can withstand moving them from home to the venue. It is not unheard of for a MOC to travel all the way across the world and make it safely in place with proper packing and care. It is also not unheard of to see a creation destroyed by improper packing or handling, or just bad luck. Many MOC are comprised of smaller modular sections making it easier to store and travel with.
Are the models for sale? Some items are for sale, but most are not. It always depends on the individual exhibitor that has created that item. If you have seen something in our display that you just must own, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org We will do our best to arrange for the owner to contact you. Please keep in mind, LEGO is a very expensive medium and custom work is often costly.
My child is a LEGO maniac, can he display his creations too? The main displays at our event are made by AFOL (our Adult Fan Exhibitors), however children can go to the "Look what I MADE!" area and leave what they have built using our bricks on display for the rest of the day.
Can my child bring something from home to display? No, the display space is for the AFOL (Adult Fans of LEGO) attendees who are participating in the entire Brickfête Event.
Your site/sign says "no strollers" allowed. Will you make exceptions? No. Sorry but there are absolutely no exceptions to this rule unless a young child is using a stroller in leiu of a wheelchair. We have a stroller parking area beside the Duplo play area. LEGO is a choking hazard for young children, children in strollers are directly at display height making it to easy for them to reach bricks without anyone noticing. This rule is for the safety of your child.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible? Yes, the venue is completely wheelchair accessible.
Aren't most of you too old to build? One is never too old to be creative!
Can you offer a discount for (insert any number of noble causes here) or larger groups?
We currently offer discounts to seniors and those who have served or are serving in the Military. We donate to local childrens charities and many of us volunteer our time for smaller free public displays and events for children throughout the year. Our prices are set to support the costs of running an event of this size so we are unable to offer any other discounts.
May I bring food into the venue? No food or drink is allowed to be brought into the venue by the public. As well, the venue is a smoke free and pet free (service animals exempt) enviroment, please do not smoke within 10 metres of the venue doors.

EXHIBITOR (AFOL) Brickfête FAQ
I want to bring my child with me, but the join page form starts at 13 years old. Am I allowed to bring my 11 year old? Yes, AFOL families are welcome, so you may bring your child with you. Please read our Under-age Policy and note that children that are too young to understand the "look but please don't touch rule" are too young for our event. Anyone under 13 can not have their own account (COPPA), and anyone under 18 can not purchase tickets. All of your children's tickets must be added to your account.
I have joined the site, why is my name not on the attendees list? "Joining the site" and "registering for the convention" are two completely different things. Joining the site allows you to register at a later date. Registering for the event includes giving us your proper name, address and also includes payment. After you agreed to the Terms of Service, completed payment, and it has been verified by the Brickfête Team, you will appear on the attendees list.
I have paid but why is my name still not showing up? Perhaps you picked "Do not display my information publicly" on your registration or your account has not yet been verified by a human. If you know you did not change the default (information displayed) and does not show up within 3 days, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can look into it.
I have registered but I do NOT want to pay via Paypal, do I have any other options for paying?
We no longer accept cheques. You may arrange a cash payment at a LUG meeting or by contacting email@example.com
All accounts must be paid by one month prior to event, late registrants have up to two weeks prior to the event to pay, however, in doing so, they will not recieve an event bag, engraved bricks, program/booklet, nor be listed in the event booklet.
How many MOC may I bring? If your items are small, by all means please bring many. Anything the size of a grey baseplate (15" squared) must be registered. If your items are unusually large, have their own custom tables or require power please provide that info when you upload your MOC in the comment area. We will try our best to make room for everyone, but keep in mind, MOC space is granted in the order it is registered.
Why should I register my MOC? Is it mandatory? It is not mandatory unless your item is the size of a grey baseplate (15" squared) or larger. However, since MOC space is granted in the order it is registered so it is recommended. As well, only registered MOCs are considered for awards and prizes (unless otherwise noted). Your MOC information will be printed out and waiting for you when you arrive, to be placed beside your MOC, letting the public know who built your item, as well as other interesting information about it.
When is the MOC registration deadline? If your MOC is not registered two weeks prior to the event, you will not recieve MOC cards. The floor plan is made up ahead of time, MOC space is granted in the order it is registered. So to avoid disappointment register your MOC as soon as you are sure that you will be bringing it with you. If your MOC is not completed yet, upload a teaser or work in progress picture. We appreciate your help in giving us an accurate idea of what space we will need to dedicate for specific theme areas.
I would love to attend but I can't stay all weekend, may I take my MOC home early? We would love you to stay but you are free to come and go as you wish, and if you must, take home your display early.
Do I get a discount if I can't stay the for the whole convention? No, everyone pays the full price. If you want to save a bit of money, register early for the "early brick" savings.
My significant other/family member/best friend is going to help me set up, do they have to pay? Yes, everyone that enters the convention space must be a registered and paid guest.
How many people can register for the event? We are treading carefully when it comes to creating a good balance between, AFOL/Vendors/Public as well as deciding on space requirements for other things such as activities. Full registration closes one month prior to the event, late registration closes two weeks prior to the event.
Where is the schedule of events or activity descriptions? The site is live before all those details are sorted out, once everything is decided the links on the left will give you a good idea of some of the things you can participate in. You can expect to see the schedule of events approximately one and half months before the event date.
I have never been to a fan convention, what should I expect? There will be numerous amazing creations to see, and plenty of people to discuss LEGO with, vendors selling LEGO related items, plus we will be doing lots of fun activities. You can check out the schedule to see what is going on during the convention. You might want to participate in the forum prior to the event, where you can ask questions and get to know everyone a bit more. We all remember our first fan event fondly and we are sure you will have a great time. It's a good idea to check out some of the things you can participate in before arriving at the event, such as contests, events and activities.
I have never been to a fan convention, what should I bring? Aside from the obvious things you would take on any holiday like your toothbrush, I.D. and camera you don't really need to bring anything. Of course, it's much more fun if you bring something to display. Keep in mind that the items displayed should be something you have created yourself (not a set or kit) and should be 100% LEGO. No competitor clone bricks, other building toys please or mixed media projects, however AFOL custom made parts are welcomed.
I can't attend, may I get a refund? As stated on the ticket page "All ticket sales are final. There are no refunds for unused, lost or stolen tickers." Unlike a large business or enterprise we are a volunteer run organization. Your payment helped us prepay for upfront costs associated with running the event, which is why we offer incentives for people that pay early (and the reason for premiums for procrastinators). We have no way to recoup lost revenue nor we do not maintain sufficient funds to issue refunds. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

This is a volunteer organisation and if you do not like a decision we have made, we suggest that you be willing to step up yourself and take a place on the team.
